I think it would be impossible for me to write how much I adore this matcha in the constraint of this review. Not only are Amy and the Tea For Us team lovely and wonderful people, but this matcha is absolutely divine. The nuttiness of the black sesame and kinako blend so seamlessly with the decadent creaminess of the matcha itself.
Houki meaning “radiant fragrance", is truly aptly named. It's both simple and complex. While some matchas have become increasingly complicated with various flavor enhancements, this matcha needs no introduction. Infusing flavor into the matcha itself to create a unique tasting experience that both new to matcha and seasoned veterans will find enjoyable.
I am honestly torn between recommending this matcha to others and buying the whole entire inventory for myself so I can enjoy this matcha endlessly. The flavor is just so refined and perfected--it almost feels sinful to savor and enjoy it so much.
I know this sounds so exaggerated, but this matcha is truly worth the hype. I also really recommend the Hiroko matcha from this brand. I can't imagine Tea for Us coming out with a matcha I won't completely be enamored with. I'll be following their journey and well-deserved flowers and I'll be cheering them on every step of the way :)
PS. if you're feeling really adventurous you could do a 1:1 ratio of Hiroko and Houki for a beautiful blend of flavors
